Love? Loyalty ? What’s that?

A question I ask myself everyday. Since childhood I have heard my mom reciting me love stories, where the guy and the girl are so madly in love with each other that nothing else, no one else matters. Stories like Heer Ranjha, Radha Krishna always ignited a spark in me about getting a guy who would love me unconditionally and I would be ready to do anything for him. You know? That’s 90’s romance where love is pure, eternal and the best part of your life.

But when I observe the current world, how things are working here, where body and ego is over the soul, when love is all about posting cheesy stories over social media, having constant worries about partner’s loyalty and thinking all the time if he is going to stay forever?

Is this really love? I don’t know, I always had a different definition. A magic as pure as a child’s soul, away from all the negativities of life, a feeling that can’t be compared, a partner who is there for you no matter what till the eternity.

Last night I was reading about Hindu marriage act and what amazed me the most was the concept of “7 Janam ka saath” being written in the bill as a condition,  must for marriage, such a beautiful bond where two souls are connected forever. But what we get these days is a year relationship or twice where one day the partner leaves just because they don’t love you anymore or are not capable enough to fight for their love. Is that what this generation really wants?

I guess I am from an another planet, still waiting to feel those eternal butterflies in my stomach, where relationship would be my happy place .
